The FDA approval of neffy® is a major milestone for people living with severe allergies. The nasal spray is easy to use, easy to carry and, as a needle-free option, is expected to reduce delays in treating a severe allergic reaction, or anaphylaxis. The new device could result in schools, public places and businesses adjusting their epinephrine policies, leading to more widespread availability of the medication.

Palforzia® Approved for Use in Younger Children
|
FDA has approved the peanut allergy oral immunotherapy (OIT) treatment Palforzia for children ages 1-3. It was already approved for children ages 4-17. Palforzia is a once-daily capsule containing a pre-measured dose of peanut powder given under the supervision of an allergist. It's intended to gradually improve tolerance to peanut and reduce the risk of severe allergic reactions.

What Vaccines are Recommended For People with Asthma?

If you have moderate to severe asthma, you may be at higher risk for severe illness from the flu, COVID-19 and RSV. The first step to protect yourself is to get a vaccine against these respiratory conditions. The flu vaccine is available, as are multiple RSV vaccines. A COVID-19 vaccine is expected to become available in the coming weeks.
